Mindfulness for Wellness Refresher Day

For those who previously completed an 8-week 'Mindfulness for Health & Wellness' or 'Mindfulness for Stress Management Course', with Mindfulness4Wellness or other providers, and wish to revisit and/or deepen their practice skills.

These days are ideal if you have a mindfulness practice, having completed the 8 weeks 'Mindfulness for Wellness' Pain or Stress Management Course, and would like to explore your practice deeper, or if your practice has somewhat lapsed and you would like to reconnect to it. The days are also beneficial for people who have attended similar 8 weeks mindfulness courses, but please enquire before booking.  

 

  • During the day participants will we have the opportunity to:

  • Revisit the core meditations from the course, together

  • Share insights and challenges of practicing mindfulness

  • Explore how to reconnect to or consolidate the practice

 

Enjoy a day for just being with what unfolds ….  

hopefully feeling re-energised and rejuvenated by the end

 

Weather permitting, there will be a possibility to practice mindful walking and/or movement outdoors in the ambience of the beautiful Dartington Gardens. Participants are invited to wear loose, comfortable clothing. Mats, blankets and some cushions are provided, but if you have a preferred meditation cushion or stool, please bring it along. 

 

Refreshments are provided, but please bring a dish for a shared lunch:

These days offer a practical, experiential and interactive introduction to Mindfulness practices and their

well-researched benefits. It will help you to enhance wellness and to manage stress. They are suitable for people who are curious about Mindfulness, are considering attending the Breathworks 8 weeks (run over 4 days) 'Mindfulness for Stress Management Course', want to find out more or for those who simply want to reconnect with the core mindfulness meditations.

 

Mindfulness is a mind-body based training of being present to our life as it happens. It is about consciously cultivating awareness of our internal world (body, feelings and thoughts) and events, right here and now, with an interested, non-judgemental and compassionate approach. Being Mindful gives us the opportunity to respond to difficult events and situations in new ways rather than just following old, outdated patterns.

A vast body of world-wide research over the past 35 years has shown that Mindfulness practices promote health and well-being by helping to reduce stress, illness, fatigue and anxiety. In the UK, it has been recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence as a preferred method for use in the NHS.

What can you take away from the Mindfulness Day? 

A day for just being with your experience, with the teaching and the group in the midst                                 of the beautiful Dartington Gardens

An engaging and accessible introduction to Mindfulness, its benefits and current research

An experiential introduction to core meditations: the body scan, on breathing, on movement, on acceptance or/and on Kindness to Self and exploring how these meditations help us to notice and transform habitual stress-producing reactions

An opportunity to share your experiences of the practices with the group and further enquire into them, if you wish

Key pointers on how to integrate Mindfulness at home or work

To fully benefit from the course participants need to be prepared to continue practising Mindfulness in their daily lives or until they decide to take the full Mindfulness for Stress Management Course.

 

Is the Mindfulness Day for you?

The Mindfulness Day is open to all adults from 18 onwards. It will be presented by a trained and experienced facilitator in a group setting of maximum 14. If you are currently suffering from an acute episode of a psychiatric condition, please wait until you are feeling better to take part in this course. We also ask you not to take part if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

 

There will be an hour lunch break. You can either bring a packed lunch or visit Dartingon Café or the White Hart Pub. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided.

 

Mats and blankets and chairs are also provided, but you are welcome to bring your favorite sitting cushions. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for ease of movement.

A £10 Discount is given if  you wish to attend the next full 'Mindfulness for Stress Management' Course, following attendance at a Mindfulness Day.
